Everything below is the plain version of what we tell people on the phone. If a tax resolution company will not put these things in writing, that itself is worth noting.
We are not a law firm
El Dorado Tax Solutions LLC is not a law firm and does not employ attorneys. We do not provide legal advice. No communication with us creates an attorney-client relationship.
Our team members are Enrolled Agents, licensed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Under Treasury Department Circular 230, Enrolled Agents have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service in examinations, collection matters, and appeals. That is a real and specific federal authority, and it is the same administrative representation authority an attorney or CPA has before the IRS.
It is not the practice of law. Enrolled Agents cannot represent you in United States Tax Court (absent separate admission), in federal district court, in a criminal tax proceeding, or in bankruptcy. If your matter needs any of that, you need an attorney. We will say so and decline the case rather than take it.
Results are not typical
Any case results, testimonials, or reviews shown on this site describe the outcome of one person's matter under that person's specific facts. They are not typical, they are not a prediction, and they are not a promise about your case.
Tax resolution outcomes turn on details that vary enormously between taxpayers: your income, your assets and equity, your allowable living expenses under IRS standards, which years are unfiled, how much time remains on the collection statute, and whether you stay compliant going forward. Two people who owe the same amount can qualify for entirely different programs.
No guarantee of any outcome
We do not guarantee that the IRS will settle your debt for less, release a levy or wage garnishment, abate penalties, or grant any particular status. Nobody can.
Be careful with any company that guarantees a settlement, quotes you a “pennies on the dollar” figure before pulling your transcripts, or tells you that you qualify for an Offer in Compromise on a first call. Qualification for an Offer is a formula the IRS applies to your verified financial disclosure. It cannot honestly be determined before someone has looked at your numbers.
Not a debt settlement or credit repair company
We do not settle consumer debt, negotiate with private creditors, consolidate loans, or repair credit. We resolve tax liabilities with taxing authorities through their own formal administrative programs.
Information on this site is general
The explanations on this site describe general federal tax procedure: the 21-day bank levy hold, the 30-day Collection Due Process window, how installment agreements and Currently Not Collectible status work. They are accurate as general statements and are not advice about your situation.
Deadlines in your own notices control, not the general descriptions here. Read your notices. Tax law and IRS procedure change, and we do not warrant that every statement here is current at the moment you read it. Do not act or fail to act on the basis of this site without having a professional review your specific facts.
Practice under Circular 230
Our Enrolled Agents practice before the IRS under Treasury Department Circular 230 (31 C.F.R. Part 10), which sets the duties and restrictions applying to practitioners, the standards for written advice, and the sanctions for violating them. Among other things, it requires us to exercise due diligence, to advise you promptly of any errors or omissions we find in your filings, and to refrain from taking positions lacking a reasonable basis.
Circular 230 no longer requires the boilerplate “this advice cannot be used to avoid penalties” legend that used to appear at the bottom of tax correspondence; those provisions were removed in 2014. We mention Circular 230 here because it is the standard we are held to, not as a disclaimer of our own advice.
